Calls for Justice as Endiga Clan Marks Anniversary of Daniel Bbosa’s Death

Members of the Endiga Clan have held a solemn remembrance meeting to mark two years since the tragic killing of their former clan head, Engineer Daniel Bbosa, as calls for justice and reflection on his legacy continue.

The memorial gathering took place at the Endiga Clan offices in Mengo, bringing together clan leaders, family members, and well-wishers to honor the life and contributions of the late leader.

The commemoration comes as the criminal case linked to his killing remains before court. Tabula Bbosa, who is alleged to have led the group that attacked the deceased, together with several other suspects, remains on remand at Luzira Prison as investigations and court proceedings continue.

Engineer Daniel Bbosa, who previously served as the Lwomwa (clan head) of the Endiga Clan, was shot dead in February 2024 while returning to his home in Lungujja after visiting his grandchildren in Kyaggwe. His killing shocked many within the Buganda Kingdom and the wider community.

The memorial event was attended by the current Lwomwa of the Endiga Clan, Eriya Lwasi Buzaabo, special guest and member of the council of clan leaders Samson Nabbimba, family members of the deceased, and several clan elders.

The gathering began with prayers led by Claudius Ssaava Ssegonja of Nakawuka Parish, who urged attendees to remember those who have passed on and remain grateful for the lives they lived.

He emphasized the importance of prayer and reflection in honoring the memory of the departed, encouraging people to always find time to pray for those who came before them and appreciate the work they accomplished while alive.

Family members of the late engineer expressed gratitude to the Endiga Clan for organizing the remembrance event and for continuing to honor his legacy.

Speaking on behalf of the family, the heir to the late Bbosa, Richard Kiyingi Bbosa, together with his sister Pheobe Nakibuuka, thanked the clan leadership for ensuring that the memory of their father and brother remains alive.

They said the annual remembrance reflects the deep respect and affection the clan continues to hold for the late leader.

Several speakers during the meeting praised Engineer Bbosa for his dedication to the clan and the Buganda Kingdom, describing him as a committed leader who worked tirelessly to promote unity and development among his people.

The current Lwomwa, Eriya Lwasi Buzaabo, described the late Bbosa as a man deeply devoted to both his clan and his faith.

He noted that the former clan head consistently encouraged unity and cooperation among members, urging them to work together for the collective good of their community.

Meanwhile, clan leader Samson Nabbimba, also known as Omutaka Nakigoye, described Engineer Bbosa as a hardworking and visionary leader whose plans had the potential to further strengthen the Endiga Clan and contribute to the development of the Buganda Kingdom.

He urged current leaders to emulate the late Bbosa’s commitment, discipline, and vision in order to build on the foundation he laid.

The remembrance meeting served not only as a tribute to the life of Engineer Daniel Bbosa but also as a moment for clan members to reflect and recommit themselves to unity, service, and the values he championed.

As the clan continues to mourn their former leader, many expressed hope that the ongoing court process will eventually deliver justice for his family and the wider community.
